I’m Maryvi Kim, an art director at George P. Johnson based in Metro Detroit. As the daughter of immigrants, I started school with limited English, and I discovered that drawing and creating art were my primary ways to connect with those around me. Art became my voice and a means to build relationships without words.

From a young age, I realized that pursuing art and design was my calling. Through my work, I strive to foster meaningful connections and share my unique perspective. I see design as a way to forge bonds and tell stories. For my immigrant family, a career in design was a luxury we couldn’t afford, so I’m dedicated to celebrating the connections that enrich our shared human experience through the opportunity I have been given.
